This is why I wanted to be a consumer reporter, to help people just like this couple. I would’ve adopted them as grandparents in a heartbeat.
I called theirs “A Love Story In Pavement” because their request for my help in a case of city stupidity/red tape was really the story of one man’s love for his wife.
The gentleman was sweet and soft-spoken, and I’ve always had a soft spot for the elderly, who I believe to be one of the most voiceless & vulnerable segments of our culture. Plus, I got a special thrill out of making bureaucrats scramble to make things right when I took them to task (not that they would admit it!)
