Eileen Faxas stars as Nora Astorga against Sharon Talbot’s Jeane Kirkpatrick in a new political dramedy by Louis Nevaer. Set at the United Nations during the Reagan era Iran-Contra Scandal, the play captures a real life clash of the titans between the famously erudite U.S. Ambassador and a bloodied-revolutionary-turned-Nicaraguan-superstar-ambassador.
The story offers an amusing take on the behind-the-scenes machinations in the White House and in the U.N., where the world’s ambassadors took to calling Kirkpatrick and Astorga “Amazonian Bitches” for their legendary clashes in the ladies room a.k.a. “toilet diplomacy”.
