FEBRUARY 16, 2016 – Big news to announce as our favorite redhead prepares to head to Europe!
Eileen has been tapped for a leading role in the premiere international production of CARMEN LA CUBANA at the famed Théâtre du Châtelet in the heart of Paris this spring. Comprised of a cast of Americans and Cubans from the island, the new musical is helmed by renowned British Director/Tony-nominee Christopher Renshaw. This production updates the famous CARMEN opera by Bizet, transplanting the action to 1958 mid-revolution Cuba. New orchestration and arrangements are by Tony Winner and Eileen’s fellow Miamian Alex Lacamoire.
Carmen will be played by Cuban actress Luna Manzanares, and Eileen will play her streetwise, quick-witted best friend, Paquita. Also joining the cast will be premier Cuban-American salsa singer Albita as La Señora, the mystical narrator to the musical drama.
