Walk On The Wild Side is the dark and country-tinged new musical by Will Holt (The Me Nobody Knows, Over Here!, A Kurt Weill Cabaret).
It is getting its first New York performance in a reading at the York Theatre November 8th & 9th.
These are two songs from the new show concept album, in which I play/sing the role of Terasina.
The music beautifully blends elements of country, classic musical theatre, jazz and blues as the story takes us from dusty roads of Texas to the cobblestone streets of New Orleans.
Here are the two major songs Terasina has in the show, the solo “Shut Out The Night” and a fiery duet with her forbidden love Dove (performed by Matthew Kacergis), “Don’t Put Me Down For The Common Kind”. Enjoy!
