This adaptation of Bizet’s opera Carmen is playing to packed houses and winning standing ovations at the Théâtre du Châtelet!

The classic story is reset in 1958 Cuba against the backdrop of a rising revolution. Sexy heartbreaker Carmen works at a cigar factory, and Eileen plays her best friend, Paquita.

Bizet’s music has been re-orchestrated into classic Cuban genres by Tony Winner Alex Lacamoire, making this the most danceable, hypnotic Carmen ever staged. The brainchild of Tony nominated Director Christopher Renshaw, the show boasts a cast of top dancers from Cuba, Hispanic Actors from the U.S. and a French production team, making this is a truly international production.
